Default Spark plugs

Sorry for bad picture but it's all I could get.
Compression is good thank God and all near spec.

1 spark plug is exhaust side
2 spark plug
3 spark plug
4 spark plug is chain side

As you can see:
1&2 plugs are black.
3&4 plugs are orange ish.
I've just adjusted float height as all were pretty out by 2mm and 3mm.

Could this be my problem also is there anything else I should check when I sync the carbs this weekend and clean the fuel lines and tank out.
Cheers pal

If it´s a 1990 US model then 38 and 110 might be correct... https://www.bike-parts-honda.de/hond.../E_17_1/1/2925

I´d have a look at idle mixture screws as well...
.... and check if the float valve plungers move freely as this might effect float height!

Cheers from Austria!

Yeh those 3 and 4 plugs look really lean ,almost to starvation, if they were getting fuel but no spark would at least come out wet ,looks like their just sparking, were both float needles working properly when you did the float heights?are you getting any back firing

Hi again.
So I got down to doing a compression and all cylinders were 90psi.. around 8-10 clicks
they should be 185 or so.

I did do it without exhaust and carbs off the bike
Have i done something wrong?
Can u please let me know cheers.
