Do you have anyone with the same bike you could swap ECM with?

Honestly, I'm out of ideas...

I'd look at coil packs, if it were a car, if experienced that on two cars and it was a coil pack giving up when placed under load.

Ok so update time.

Tried a new known working ECM and no change to bike.

I will also state bike smell like it is running rich. I have installed a power commander 3 and the bike does feel better. My buddy who was here suggested like dec111 that all the fuel might not be burning as we smell richness pickup from the tail pipe when i go mid full throttle.

Tank has a known issue of leaking via the overflow tube when I fill it up. I have been doing alot of tank up work so i have kept the fuel levels to about a gallon. We went for a ride to a food place today and i threw about 1/2 to almost 3/4 of a tank and it seemed like the bike ran better. I could get the rpms up over 10k but again had to play with the throttle.

Ideas?

No updates after sundays post. Can you elaborate on what your F4i is doing Jacko71? Give me an update to how your bike changes after new coils. Are the OEM coils or aftermarket?

Anything else to check?
You don't need to gap plugs these days mate, they come preset.

Did you check if plugs are fully screwed in? My 954 had one which wasn't even finger tight, when I replaced them

Unsure if it affected performance under full load though, as I'd only just bought it and was getting used to/trusting it and not hammering the **** out of it.

I did not gap the plugs. I did recently change the plugs I put them back in hand tight and a quarter turn with the socket wrench. I'm off tomorrow and plan on checking on a few things. Other than replacing the fuel filter im stumped at this point.

Im having an identical problem with my F1. Im reading a ton of threads and have come up with a few ideas. I haven't had opportunity to check any yet.
1. Intake issue because I'm running naked and the ram air effect is throwing carbs off.
2. Fuel pump faulty
3. Carb issue

I also replaced all plugs, filters, checked float bowels, air filter....

very frustrating

Isn't it strange that my F1 would be having the identical problem as your F4i??
something to it...
