Any body ever use this stuff called cool aide or something similar? It's supposed to keep your water temperature down. Riding in traffic the other day my bike got up to 250. Yikes!

yea baby...WW all the way mang!!!

water takes away heat better than coolant, etc...water wetter helps the water carry heat away even faster...but it won't make you run cooler than just water alone...nor hotter.
get what i'm saying? your bike will cool much faster running water and WW than just running water alone...but won't be cooler.

FF97, Greeting from the great pacific NW !!!!!!!!!!!! 105f, in the summer, here in e. wash. Have a 84 vf1000f, stomped on, and before i got into the cooling ,it could, run HOT!!!!!! esp. in stop and go. Water wetter type products work great!!!!!!!!! they are highly touted by our sick and twisted friends, the hot roders. In stop and go, AC, too much moter, too little cooling... they swear by it, (not at it!!) BIG TIP... READY????? WALMART!!!!!!! they carry a brand...about 6$, a QT.!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( red and black can, made for rv's and towing conditions) CHEEEEP!!!!!!! I've compared it w/ "name brands", seems the same.
Be sure you run appropriate mix, w/ coolent for alum engines (non silicate).additives will also dilute your hot/cold numbers. some say in hard core cooling run w/ only distilled watter and wetter, but i want the corrosion inhibiting stuff in my system. Make sure, the air is bled from the system too.

Hey and while your at it... how bout swapp'n that high temp fan kick on temp sender, for one that kicks open earlyr ????????? the # for one that kicks at ....180f, is GP SORENSON 405001, ya, thats da ticket !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they are a "honda accurra" and I believe civics, may also fit. NAPA... take in your bike one, to match up... but i believe the 405001, to be "plug in" ready. I set up a manuel switch, for the intercepter, and can flick it on anytime. we know hot engines, run hot... maybe make shure, you dont have a intake leak, especialy if the temp situation, just showed up. Cool runnings, Clean and free, only smoke'n harleys, Ripp'n

Not sure if you have heard of this, but we used to run a product called engine ice in our bikes in mx and in flat track and it did have good results over a traditional water anti freeze mix...hope this helps my two pennies.

I would reccommend what crookedeye said. The engine ice gets run straight in your cooling system ( as in don't mix it with water ) and has gotten very good reviews. I'm planning on running that in my bike this summer once I get it finished up.
