Default Help! weird box under seat.

Hi, i jsut got my 05cbr600rr a month ago, today i took off the rear seat cowl and found a little box can someone plz tell me what it is. When i press the black button my speedo says 159mph or somin like that.

That's a Speedohealer.... it's used for correcting the factory error in the speedo, or more so when a gear change is done so that the speedo can still read accurate. The button you pushed is the max speed recall button.... it stores the highest speed you've reached

I've got the exact same one on mine

Its the seat pressure trigger. If you get off your seat you'll reset the trigger and your bike will explode.

The dip switches are for calibrating it to show the correct speed for whatever gearing you may have. As long as it's calibrated correctly you don't need to mess with them, but if you change the gearing and you still want the speedo accurate then you'll have to recalibrate it using the dip switches and the button

The other funny thing is, people who dont have any idea of what something is..... start pressing buttons and messin with things.. it cracks me up.. Find out what these things are before you press any buttons.. luckily in this case, it didnt matter... but it could have.

Exactly. Years ago my family owned a motorcycle shop, we charged $40 an hour for shop rates, $60 an hour if the owner had tried to fix it first. No ****.
