I'm looking for a pair of armored overpants.

Budget is around 100$, maybe a few $ more if something really good catches my eye, but no more than 140$ including shipping.

Black in color would be preferred.

I've got a Joe Rocket jacket with a short (probably 8 inch) rear zipper, If something matched this it would be nice, but I do have the maching zipper half, and a girlfriend who is handy with a sewing machine, so it's not a huge deal.

Weekday riding is just to school and work 3 miles each way, no speeds higher than 45mph. Weekends often include canyon carving and good twisties.

I'd like something that can be cool during the summer, but it also needs to be warmer for afternoon/evening rides. Temps often range from 85/day to 40/evening. Probably something with a removable liner. I don't tend to ride in the rain, but sometimes you get caught.

Suggestions? Tips? Products to avoid?

It dropped 7 inches of snow last night, so I've got a little bit of time to shop around before it's nice enough to ride again.
