ahhhhhhhh... i'm trying to get the front off the bike and i think i got most of the screws... only problem are the 4 screws on the headlights... there's a piece where the tach sits on that's blocking one of the screws so i can't take it out and there's another set on the bottom of the headlight hidden under another piece of plastic that i can't get to... do i hafto take this piece off also?... it looks like these are the only 4 screws left holding the front fairing in place.... how on earth do you get these screws out?!?!... help pleeeeeeeeeeease... it's driving me nuts!

 

OK KID breathe...i feel your pain...and i just that i cant give u the tool i have ..LOL...i would go to a hardware store tomorrow..or a place to get tools and see if u can find a combo screwdriver with both flat and phillips and its shaped like a z...but straighter..i thought i could pop em out but they need to come out they way thety are designed...wish ya lived closer i could loan u my fairing wonder tool...LOL...best wishes.Take your time...or just walk away for a bit...

 

oh man... this is gonna be buggin me all night now... but thanks for ease'n my pain bro... ok so my last worry is that is the screw too long to be able to take out?... i'm talkin about the one on the top of the headlight unit... the screw is sittin right behind this hard metal thing that the tach sits on and it's like one centimeter between the screw and the obstruction... it looks like the screw is longer than that cuz i've actually got the screw almost touching the metal obstruction and it still won't come out... grrrrrrrrr... i hope there's an answer to my prayers...

 

I have an 03 600..and i took the front fairing off by taking the 2 10mm bolts out of the forks...if you are standing on the left side of the bike....u will see em,....take care in taking out the last screw because the fairing will drop ...hope that helps...u might not have to worry about that screw after all ..if your working on an 03....LOL..another way is to go to bikebandit.com and look at the schematic..see how it all goes together....

You shouldn't need any special tools to get the front fairing off.

But let's start at the beginning.... what kind of bike do you have?

woooooooooooo... success!!!... omg thanks for all your help guys... you were right kiggy don't need any special tools at all... juss takes a bit of bending and pushing and pulling before the right pieces come off so i can get the screws out... thanks again for the advice guys!!
