Default Heavy Bar Ends

I have been seeing stock bar ends replaced with heavy bar ends. These bar ends seem to be much more costly than OEM. The manufacturers claim they take vibration out from the handlebars for a smoother feel. I have a 96 1000f and was wondering if this works and if so is it $ worth spending. Plus the stainless steel looks really nice.

I assume your talking about the Heavy Bar Ends made by HVMP (Hudson Valley Motorsports Parts) since you neglected to mention which one's your talking about other then "Their heavy, cost a lot more and is stainless steel".

I have a 05 CBR600 F4i and recently bought these bar ends - LOVE IT. I got the Smaller Heavy bar Ends one (Short - 11.8 ounces) for $52

The long version is $54 @ 13.5 ounces but looks too big/long for my taste.

The Short version is already longer then the oem ones - about 1 1/2 size bigger from eom.

Before after an hour of riding - my hands hurt. Now - not even a tingle - I've also learn to not have the Kung-Fu Death Grip Lock while riding my bike which helps a lot.

*IF* you have vibration problems in the bars then yes, they are awesome.

Thanks, I found them online at Hudson Valley Motorsports Parts and Manicsalamander for about the same price. My hands get numb from riding with gloves on and I wanted to know if these will help and if I should put gel grips on also.

If you have a 1000F try adjusting your balancer shaft on the motor.
It's a fairly common problem.
Most of your vibration wil disappear, and you'll save money.
Takes about 10 minutes, dead easy.
Ask the question in the Hurricane Forum, or just download the manual from my siggy.
Manual says do it wih engine stopped. Better with engine running, warm, on idle.
Hope this helps

I got both

The Heave Bar Ends from HVMP (Short Version) and a pair of Progrip 724 Dual Gel Grips.

The combination of Heavy Bar Ends and Gel Grip = Vibration Free Riding (Well maybe not 100% free but enough to make/feel a difference to justify the $52 (Bar Ends) + $10 (Grips) + $8 S/H = $70
