Default headlight acting up

headlight turns on normally, then after a couple minutes riding it goes off, put the bike in neutral and push the start button once and come back again and this cycle repeats.
bike got caught in the rain cuz batt was out due to bad r/r, next day changed the r/r and the problem started. i checked the right handle bar controls and cleaned up it was fine except for a little wear in one of the contacts. any thoughts?

check all the harness as knight said. Also, the only thing in between the fuse and the headlight switch is the starter button. When you press the button is kills the headlight for starting. Might be the contact inside is slighty burned up or blackened. Get some electrical contact cleaner and spray it in there as much as possible to try to clean it up. Might not hurt to take it apart and clean as well.

Do all the above, but I had that happen on another bike,& it turned out the filament, although broken, would touch enough to make the bulb light up. Went through a big elimination process till I realised just shaking the bike made it go on & off.

Is it both headlamps or just the highbeam.

If it's just the highbeam, then I believe your highbeam switch may be faulty. Mine was, and was replaced under warranty. I would tap it, go over a bump, etc. and the highbeam would flicker. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the switch for me. Problem solved.
