Default Have installed Yoshi RS-5 slip on...

I just put on a Yoshi RS-5 slip on on my 2006 Honda Cbr 600rr, did the oil change at 45mi, put the slip on in...Here's the problem...it feels like it's holding back, like the pressure is building up inside the can, I'm also getting abrupt throttle delivery...How important is it to get a Power Commander with the slip on? Or is this something that is happening because of the early oil change....I now have 600 mi on the bike and just did another oil change to get left over residue out of the engine, I have been breaking the engine hard, past 12k rpm since the 45 mi. oil change...

Adding a PC III will smooth out your throttle, most riders state this.

I added the PC III to make sure the engine was running properly after the added air flow. It does seem to have a little more pep, but it's hard from me to gauge this since I play around with my gearing so much. Right now I’m running stock gearing since I’m taking a long trip in a couple of weeks (500 miles) and I don’t notice any performance lost with the PC III added. Meaning… I felt the same torque with -1 as I do with my PC III. PCIII and a -2, I was lucky to see 100 miles to a tank []

Stock exhaust, bike runs lean in order to pass all the smog Bull Sh_t. Aftermarket exhaust without powercomander means more air flow. Bike runs extremely lean. Not Good. Power commander is a good thing even on a totally stock bike. hope this helps without getting to technical.

If you have an aftermarket exhaust the bike MAY run more RICH not lean. The PCIII does help with smoothing out the throttle too.

Thanks for the replies, I found an exhaust leak at the midpipe, I tightened it up as much as I could ad there still is a small leak, but the bike runs so much smoother now, but I've already ordered the power commander and should be here tomorrow, would the leak have something to do with it running rough? Should I still put the commander in?

You started ripping on it way to early. You should've done at least a few hundred miles before even taking it past 5k, let alone 12k. I pitty your motor.

I was thinking the same thing kustom...[&:]
I just put an RS-5 on the other weekend, and didn't have any problems with it. I noticed horespower gain, and got better trottle responce. I was very happy with it, I really don't see a need to get a PCIII. I may ferther down the line, but I'm good for now. Good luck with it man!

Heya guys, new member here, matter of fact it's only been bout 5 min since i said hi in the new members area :P I'm picking up my 06 600rr on friday (can't wait!) and I'm ordering a Yoshi rs5 c/f slip on tomorrow. My question is how hard is it to install? Yosh give pretty easy to understand instructions? My background as far as doing stuff to bikes is pretty limited. This will be my first brand new bike and all the used ones I've bought in the past usually had the mods on em already when I bought them. I called my local stealership and they wanna charge me 180 something dollers to put the thing on. Sounds like they are tryin to you know what me

As long as we're highjacking posts I'll help you out. It's easy there is no reason to pay someone to do it for you. Take off tail faring 6 screws I believe unbolt old pipe pull it off put on new mid pipe 2 bolts slip on the can 1 bolt 2 springs put tail faring back on. Now start the bike and listen to the second best sounding exhaust there is.

Thx for the reply. Didn't think it would be that hard to do. As far as hijacking posts, not sure what you mean. Was I not supposed to ask that here?
