well to start off im new to everything and this forum. i just bought my first bike from my uncle and its been down hill from there... it ran like a dream when he had it and he let it sit up.. the fuel pump went bad i replaced it and now i gotta get a fpr and some other odds and ends to hopefully have it done this saturday cause ive had it for three weeks and aint been able to do anything but look at it i am goin to pick up a parts bike tomorrow with everything i need and more haha 2 of everything basically.

Now the question he took it to a shop and the guy there said the guides are wore thin but when i ask other dealers they say they dont go bad its just my cct? i dont wanna risk ruining everything in the motor if the guides are bad... so do they go bad? how hard is it to fix them? im pretty car mechanic savy but bikes not so much.. can i do it or should i get a mechanic to do it? or put the cct of the parts bike motor with 2500 miles on it and see itf that fixes it? need some info soon on this please help

help please!! haha

does it have a manual cct? like an ape? guides can go bad, but usually its from someone with a manual cct that has it too tight thus the chain wears down the guide. if its the stock cct, id say its probably not the guides
