Default GP Shifting

The GP shift pattern is 1 up 4 down right? Is there any way to do this on the stock rearsets but just reversing something? I had read in a previous post that you had to 180 something to get the GP shift style and I'd like to try it out. I've got my 02 F4i and open to suggestions!

Don't quote me or anything but I've seen more than once, rear-sets that you could choose a shift pattern like you describe. Cant remember where cause it really didn't interest me but I'll look around for you.

Looks like kneedraggers.com has some. Go there and search by make and model, they had some Satos, Gilles, Vortex, and Woodcraft Rearsets for your F4I Cheapest was high 2's all the way up to 475.00 or so.

You can get a reverse shift pattern by rotating the gearshift arm 180 deg. However, this may require you to modify your front sprocket cover due to clearance issues.

This is for an '05 600RR, but the principles should be the same.

Pretty easy to do, shouldn't take you more than 15 mins.

just toss the front sprocket cover and flip the linkage 180 so it's on top instead of bottom.

i believe your bike has 6 gears...so it's actually 1 up, 5 down.

Or you can refit Blackbird shifter parts. I posted the part #'s in an old thread.
