from what I understand it is just a reverse shift pattern. you invert the linkage so that you shift down from 1st instead of up. up shift by pessing down, and down shift by pressing up.......

I think just a matter of removing the splined end from the transmission shaft turn 180 degrees and reinstall. then up is down and down is up. It may ned a bit more tweeking but that is the general idea I belive. I will take another look at my 929 tonight and repost.....

no it is more of a body position thing. notice the "GP" in the name, in road racing its all about body position. in a turn you weight into the inside foot peg. you down shift before the turn, then on the exit your on your feet more so to travel around in the saddle. so in a hard left you can keep preasure on the inside peg and still upshift in the exit with little upset to the suspention.....

And I nearly forgot, It is quarter of 5 in the morning and I just ran out to look at my bike......it is not that simple on the 929. the frame work is in the way. my old triumph daytona was. I will do some research and post up on here. but it may require new linkage and hardware for certain bikes. I will specificly look for the 900 and 929 (to satisfey my own questions).

Ok, I found this cool website with a whole post on just this issue, rather than repost the stuff I just read like I came up with it. I will post a link, it tells you every thing you want to know about how to do this to a 900RR

here is the link to that awsome site!
