Default got laid down and wont start

hi all,

i was hoping to get some feedback or suggestions of what i could try. i've been reading on the forum with similar situation but not exactly like mine.
2005 Honda CBR 600RR, 20k miles

in the morning i rode my bike to a friends place, about 40 minutes away. got to his house and he wanted to learn on my bike. we went to parking lot, it was going at low speed, 5 mph. he was taking a left turn and was off balance. bike went down on the left side. it has frame slider so nothing came off. no oil leaks, visually nothing broken. pick it back up and it wouldnt start. put back in neutral, put up the kick stand and tried to start it again, kept making a click click click click noise when i try to start it. i let it rest for 30 minutes, tried to start again, same noise. left it over night, same thing.
checked for leaks again, nothing. all gauges comes on, lights comes on. checked battery cable to make sure its secure. checked fuse box.

any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a dead battery. My guess is that from idling around the parking lot, you killed the bat. Bikes don't start putting a charge back into the battery until you have the RPM's higher than idling. Take a tester to the battery, I bet you will find it with low voltage.

Marc0011, you are exactly right.
thats exactly what i did. used battery tester and tested the voltage. battery seemed fine until i try to start the bike. it didnt have enough juice to start the engine. not sure if i should have done this next part but i did it anyways, i jump started it with my car and it ran. rode it around the block several times to see if anything else was broken or any strange noise. it appears everything is working again besides for the battery. time to get a new battery.

marc0011 and mauthman, i really appreciate your feedback.

Put the battery on a charger and see if it still takes a charge. You shouldnt need to get a battery but you probably shortened the life span of the battery. If you dont have a charger, I would get one. They are good to have around and it should run in the area of $60 to $75 from a stealership.

Why shouldn't you jump it with a car? Are they not both 12v?

I'm a newb if you didn't know but I'm curious to know.

Thanks,

The car charges at a much higher rate and can damage the battery/electrical system on your bike. Not a good idea.
