Default Gear Indicator

Hi all,

I'm riding an '89 CBR250R MC19, and I'm wondering if I can fit a gear indicator to it.

The bike I'm riding at the driving school has a built in gear indicator that shows which gear you're in and I'm curious if anyone knows any that work with my model of bike. It's not a big deal, but I find it really helpful.

So far I've been doing some research and I can't really find out if there is one that works without a digital tacho (which I don't know if I have).

Also, those that I have seen that work with a digital tacho seem to run off the speed of the wheel which says to me that if I were to switch gears when stationary (say if I had to suddenly stop when I was cornering) it wouldn't display the change - does this sound right?

In addition - I'm getting some new blinkers soon and I'm not sure if they come with the wiring (I just needed to replace the covers, so I still have the wiring on the bike) and so if anyone has a good walk through for doing this I'd really appreciate a link.

Thanks guys.
