Seriously, you don't need it. Rather, he doesn't need it. If you're gonna spend a couple of hundred bucks on something, get one of those helmet speedo displays. It shows speed, tach and gear indicatiors on your visor as an LCD. Even still...

If it's confidence he's having problems with, no amount of gadgetry in the world will make him feel safer. You just gotta get back on the thing and tame it. Outter distractions are no substitue for inner confidence.

 

I think it's fine for someone that wants it. All you peeps telling other people what thye need and don't need should get over yourselves. It's not like any of you are professional riders.
