Default GAS Question

I've been a bike owner since i was reall little. I no how to take care of my bikes. However with today's gas prices sky rocketing out of control i've been hearing more and more people say dont put 91 or highr Octane in your bike ( gas prices beingso high) the stuff has been sitting in the tanks and its basically crap gas.I just bought a new bike 600rr and the dealership told me that putting 87 in my tank would be sufficient enough and would not hurt theengine. Is this true?

Thanks bud. that article / forum was real informative. I guess at the end of the day a couple cents isnt going to hurt me. Stay with the factory octane that honda calls for. and congress gets there act together to approve more oil out of other countries. because it cant keep going higher.I've seen guys buy Vespaaaaa'sthat would normally never even get near one.

use whatever is recommended by your manual. if it pings, then bump it up to the next level.

97 f3 stock calls for regular, but engine age (amount of build up), gas quality, etc. all play a role as well.

simply using whatever gives you piece of mind is great, but there's no science behind that, which is bad.
