Default Full Maintenance Cost?

So I just bought my 03' CBR600RR and it has about 25k on the tac. I figured the smart thing to do is take it in for a full maintenance, especially since the hot idle is pretty off. I took it to a place and they quoted me for $500 for labor and $100 for parts. Is this a reasonable price for:

Air-filter clean
Fluids top off
Oil change (synthetic)
Full carb clean
Spark plugs (NGK iridium)
Brake drain
Re-timing valves

I already changed out the chain so that wasn't included in the price. The shop is pretty nice and seems pretty reliable as well as received good reviews. I'm just curious to see if I'm paying about the average or if I might be able to find a better deal.

In my neck of the woods, that's a fair price. If by "re-timing" the valves, you mean
check/adjusting clearance. They should be making a profit, but they're not cheating
you, if the work is up to par.

does carb stand for something other than carburetor cause your bike aint got a carburetor. i would change the airfilter, change the brakes and fluid, change oil and filter, redo the sparks your self. the parts on those are around 200 for the expensive brands and no labor costs. but i would have them do the valves and that should be around 150-200. but i guess if you add it up the other 200 bucks for the shop doing may be worth it to you

You sure can buy some really nice tools and a shop manual for $500.

I don't mind doing a bit of work myself, but I'm not quite sure if I'm capable of doing all the valve work, synchronizing the idle, and FI. Either way, it seems like my full service is about on par with how much other shops are charging.

If you really come down to it, the valve adjustment amounts to being able to insert a feeler gauge for a go/no-go type of measurement. As for synching the carbs, you hook up some hoses and look at the gauges. If the gauges aren't the same, you turn a couple of screws.

Granted it's a really oversimplification of the task, but if you have mechanical aptitude, then I think you could do it. But if you just don't want to mess with it, then it's probably better to just pay someone to do it.
