fuel ?????
my 93 f2 is running rich when a load is on the bike, or atleast it sputters when there is a load..... how do i fix this problem, do i adjust the carbs and how do i do that???? any help is appreciated
that has been done, the battery is fine the fuel filter is clean the fuel pump is flowing, the air filter is clean ... the bike runs perfect until i ride it down the road then it sputters in 3-6 gears at higher rpm like it is starving for gas or getting to much gas, but only when being ridden, does fine on the lift and run 1-6, but with me on and riding in the neighborhood it sputters....... carbs were cleaned...... the cycle shop told me it was running rich, to adjust the carbs but have no clue how
With all due respect I just learned this aswell but, carbs dont have fuel pumps. Correct me if im wrong but I think the mixture is only really an issue at idle. The mixture while riding is determened by ur jets, while in idle it is ur pilot screws. Did you get this bike second hand? Becaust the problem really should not be in the weight on the bike, the fuel lines should really be unaffected by weight. The only thing i could think of that would be affected is, possibly the fuel tank breather tube. If the tube is kinked then it may make it hard for the carbs to get gas, the way the seat is it shouldnt kink it anymore but it might be something to check out. But is the sputtering entierly an exhuast thing? And if you are looking at adjusting the pilot screws u can either buy a pilot screw wrench which is a flat head screw driver with a 90 degree angle at the end, or you can pull ur carbs off and adjust your pilots and maybe check ur jets. I was unable to successfully adjust my pilots (make sure they are the right size) without taking out my carbs but also it is not recommended to adjust the pilots, but I messed with my pilots without knowing what I was doing and it definatly helped my F2. Do you have other problems wile running the bike or just some exhaust sputtering? Hope some of this is helpful 

well im not familar with your application man as the only bike i have is my f4i. i have had other carbed toys though and with out knowing how its set up its hard to help yah. since its sounds like its having trouble under a load i would check your ignition system again. i dont know the throtal to carb set up or how many carbs it has but if you have more then one its possible a carb came out of sink with the others.
if you do have more then one carb and one came out of sink with the other/others it could be dumping more fuel/air into the system giving you that problem.when ever i need my cabs ajusted when there was more then one i took it to my buddys shop and he used a tool that messured the vacume and ajusted each carb till they were the same.

thanks for all the info ....(mickey) this is the only problem with the bike... it fells like she is being bogged down when i get about 3rd gear and a few grand in rpm.... 1st and second do fine. but from 3rd on up she is ok at low rpm but when i get on her then she bucks and sputters and boggs down like i am drowning her.... but she only does this with a load..... i put her on the rack and run her 1-6 gears she runs great not a spit or sputter anywhere..... (95camaro) she has 4 carbs and i will have to see about finally getting a book and then go from there because i am not taking her back to the shop... pockets are getting thin.....thanks again for all your help
it has done this since i got it and i have change gas out completely from 2 different places.....the cycle shop said it was running rich when it had a load on it and i would need to adjust my carbs
