Default Front Flush mounts on when riding?

ok... quick question.. might be a dumb one.. but i have no idea.. i just recently picked up an 01 F4i.. everything on the bike is perfect.. but are the front lights (turn signal lights) supposed to be on when the bike is on ? turn signals work perfect.. when i'm not using the turn signals, they're not on, i wasn't sure about the running lights i guess you could call them.. my buddies 929RR runs with the lights on.. i have to get it inspected in Virginia.. and wasn't sure if they would fail me for this.. any ideas from anyone.. or people in VA who know about state inspection?

Your flush mount signals probably don't incorporate a running light. Most likely they are only two wire. I don't know if that would be against regulation, we don't have inspections in MN.
