ok... quick question.. might be a dumb one.. but i have no idea.. i just recently picked up an 01 F4i.. everything on the bike is perfect.. but are the front lights (turn signal lights) supposed to be on when the bike is on ? turn signals work perfect.. when i'm not using the turn signals, they're not on, i wasn't sure about the running lights i guess you could call them.. my buddies 929RR runs with the lights on.. i have to get it inspected in Virginia.. and wasn't sure if they would fail me for this.. any ideas from anyone.. or people in VA who know about state inspection?

Another way to answer your questions, yes, they are supposed to be on, least thast the way the bikes designed. As for failing you, I doubt it. Your required to have working blinkers, headlight that are on at all times and a constantly lit taillight. Don't think running lights are required. Theres a thread in the how to section that tells you how to convert 3 wire front signals into 2 wire blinkers to get them to work properly. Works great, you should go look into it and rewire yours to this method if your worried about it in the slightest. Running lights on a bike are a really good idea btw if you plan on doing any night riding.

Mine are wired like that and it works great, just like stock in fact. Good luck, just make sure you wire the diodes in the right direction and you shouldn't have a problem.
