My buddy just bought an '05 Interceptor, only 3k miles. He ran it for a short time, then shut it off. When he tried to start it again, it would not stay running. It would start, but would not idle. Left the bike for the night, then it started and ran fine in the morning. Rode the bike again, and the same problem occurred. Bike had sat in the dealership for a long time. Bike is fuel injected. Any ideas what could be wrong?

 

Fuel pump. Fuel filter... Guess is Fuel pump starting to go. Had it happpen to my vette two months ago, replaced fuel pump..new one lasted 68 miles. happened to my BMW 5 series, started kinda ugly then died. First sign was that it wouldn't pull, then it wouldn't rev, then it wouldn't idle, then it wouldn't start. Then I pushed that heavy son of a bitch a block to my buddies garage and had it towed from there.

Maybe even bad gas (jelled or water), but if it starts, that is less likely I think.
