Default Frame Sliders

I just got a set of LP Frame Sliders for my 08 CBR. To say that these came with the worst instructions ever would be kind to LP. Overall the quality of the parts appears exceptional. The package contains a set of aluminum offsets so there is no need to cut any of the body work. The sliders come with a single half sheet of instructions, with an illustration of the parts on one side which depicts the left and right offset pieces. On the reverse it gives some very random instructions which pertain to installing the sliders on a bike that would require drilling and cutting. These are supposed to just bolt in on the upper engine mount bolts. Has anyone installed these? If so some help would be greatly appreciated!

Paul

Why thank you for the constructive contribution, but not everyone has the desire to go cutting holes in body parts and drilling extra holes into frames. Especially on a brand new bike.

Do your research and you will see why many people object no cut sliders...look how it mounts...onto the front motor mounts...do you really want all the stress from a fall pushing against those mounts?
And on a second note...no cut sliders and their "brackets"...all they do is add more stress points...

Actually I consulted several people including local bike mechanics, every single one of them said that there aren't any problems with using the offset mounts when I specifically asked. They said the real problem with all sliders is inferior mounting bolt grades. An inferior grade of bolt will cause it to shear upon impact, whether it is installed with an offset or directly bolted to the frame, that is far more dangerous. The design of the offset when mounted on an existing hardpoint on the frame is not adding a weak point. The offset is specifically engineered to take an impact. Either way, that is not the issue. I thank you for taking the time to post however I am not looking to have a discussion about peoples preferences especially on the internet, I'm just looking for help with the issue at hand, that being installation advise.

Why don't you go to their website?
They might have an online instruction there for you.
Or call their tech service.

Hope it works out for you.

Unfortunately the Lockhart Phillips website was the first place that I checked. They have no links for technical support for their products listed. They do not even have a nice way to look up parts on their site, you have to go page by page through their online catalog. They appear to be more geared towards being a wholesale distributor catering to individual resellers. I'm going to give their regular customer service department a call on the off chance they do offer direct product support.
