Default frame sliders?

Wanna get some frame sliders but not crazy about drilling into my new bike, I mean, I'll cut the holes nice and slow and put out some quality work, but then I saw some no-cut frame sliders. Are these as good as direct mount sliders or any recomendations?? Thanks.

No, they are not. Many on this board will tell you that the no cut variety aren't much, if any good in a lay-down with any speed. In fact, many claim that they may actually cause damage.

Vortex's are pretty popular. There are other good ones as well.

+1 with woogie. The frame sliders are good to a point, for a stopped lay down, it'll keep your fairing from getting damaged too much..like cracked and what not. But for high speed lay down in some case the slider actually break off and could rip around the fairing, and this is coming from a honda mechnic while I was in Japan. The guys there are completely different, they take pride in what they do, their words I actually trust cause everything I do to my bike, I go thru them, everything I got on my bike I got from them, so their words I believe, the dealerships in the states are completely different story.

I actually put the frame sliders on my 06 600rr yesterday. I was skeptical to cut it because it is orange and I didnt want holes bla bla bla, but really they blend right in. get black ones, none of this chrome nonsense. Just pull the pannel off, and put the slider bolt into the hole without the actual slider. then put some puddy onto the pannel in the area u think u ll drill it. then put the pannel onto the bike so the slider bolt makes an indent on the puddy. that way you know exactly where to cut it. my sliders look sick and do not have space around them. they fit the hole perfectly. plus a repaint on your bike sucks a lot more than just cutting a little two inch hole.

The bike is an 06 cbr1000rr. Looks like I'm gonna be cuttin' I read on here about a method of setting a laser pointer on a bench then pointing it at the bolt hole, then mounting the fairing, and the laser marking the spot. I got the gear for it, sounds like a solid method.

yeah that sounds pretty complicated. i didnt know its a 1000. i ve actually heard good things about the no cut sliders on those. my buddy has that bike with those sliders, but i guess until he lays it down theres no way of telling. the puddy method works really well though. its simple too.
