Default FRAME REPAIR?

I have a cbr1000 with minor framedamage. The neck is cracked and I want to repair it. I've been told that it could be replaced, by cutting the bad one out andweldind in agood one.Has anyone out there ever done this, or thatcan offerany advice?

buy a used frame that isnt cracked and install everything on it. if the crack is small enough get it welded by a quality welder.

also, if you buy a used frame that has a good history and put everything on it, you can end up with clear title (if your current bike is marked as salvage). reason being that the vin # is tied to the fram of the bike and the used frame would have a different vin (hopefully clear) compared to your current one. this is all assuming you go the new frame route
