Default flapper question

i have on 03 954, love it, i read at another forum, cant remember where, but they were removing the flapper inside the airbox, for small gains, anyone hear about this and have you done it and notice any difference, thank you

Ya -- it'll give you a little more low end grunt. Won't help out as much on max hp. As long as you don't break anything taking it out it's easily replaced if you don't like the way it runs -- can make it a little jumpy off idle on some bikes. I left my flapper in but removed the valve that actuates it so it's always open (1000rr) and I am pleased with the small extra grunt down low -- also gained 2mpg (***note -- not that I give a crap about mileage ... just lettin you know***)

great thanks alot, ill try that, and your right could care less about mileage, still get better than any car
