first time spark plug change
Hey Guys,
I'm a noob so please excuse my simple questions. I have a 2000 CBR 600, I am trying to change the spark plugs and i wanted to know, exactly how do you get them out. I got the ignition coil 4 out buy turing it to the left 6 or 7 times and then pulling it up. the ignition coil came out but the spark plug did not. I dont know if i did somthing wrong and the spark plug is still in the engine or if the guy i bought it from did have one in there although it was working fine for like 3 months after i bought it. can some one help me out.

Um... it doesn't sound like you know much about motors. Maybe you should take the bike to a pro.
If you still want to attempt it yourself, you should know that the coil and plug are separate parts. Now that you have the coil disconnected, you need to use a spark plug socket and unscrew the plug, then pull it out. It will help if you have a magnetic screwdriver or something to fish it out.

Kingmal is right the spark plugs are screwed into the head over each cylinder. On engines like ours, strait fours, there is one spark plug for each cylinder as opposed to two per like on some V-Twins. They are screwed in kind of tight so the compressed air that builds up prior to and after spark detonation does not escape past each plug. Do the work yourself but first buy the service manual.
Spark plug is easy, just lots of work.
