Default FI light= bad fuel injector?

My FI light comes on evey once in awhile just for a few seconds and then will turn off and wont come on the rest of the day. Does this mean i have a bad fuel injector or could it just be a bad plug or something?

Its hard to tell with an intermitten problem like this. The bad thing is, you almost have to wait for it to get worse to find out for sure, unless your bike has been throwing codes.

What bike is it? If its and F4i, could be an early sign of the FPR going bad. Its a fairly common thing on that model. Its also quite common on other models as well, but the F4i seems to suffer quite a bit more. But as far as I know, I dont think the injectors were a weak link in the system.

does the bike run odd at all?
Is it hard to start?
Does it run rich?
Does it hesitate? If these things happen to the bike, or have become noticable and become worse, My first guess would be the Fuel Pressure Regulator.

pull the codes...at this point everything is speculation. Could be a sensor going bad or a loose plug, or as squid stated the FPR, or an injector sticking, could be a number of things. Pull the codes.
