If I am reading the manual correctly its saying I need to have the engine on for the codes to flash. I can't get the fuel pump to work to get the engine on to get the codes it looks like.

doesnt need to be running.

Ignition Off, short the diag connector under the seat, ignition to On, run/stop to Run. the light should start blinking if it has a code.

How do you short the Diagnostic connector?

I have a pocket electrical tester, has the red and black prongs with the sharp tips. Will that work? It looks like it tests a number of different things.

Ok I set my electrical tester to test OHMS and I put the positive side on the Brown Wire (middle connector) and the Black side on the Green Wire (left connector) and the needle shot over. The tester I have measures DC V, AC V, OMH, and batteries. Should I use a different setting?

Does that mean there's power?

you short the diag connector just with a piece of wire. For most other testing, use the meter on DC Voltage.

I just got home from work.

I'll go set the meter on DC V and see if I can get anything out of it. I think I have some old speaker wire laying around here.

Dude, if I can get this fixed because of your help, I am FEDEX'ing you a 12 pack of whatever beer you like. LOL

Ok dude. Good news, I got the bike running.
I went and bought some general purpose wire and I shorted the diagnostic connector like you said, only this time when I turned on the bike...I heard a distinct "click" from the rear cowling...Thinking that was odd I turned on the switch and my fuel pump started right up. Turned on the bike, no problems, took it for a spin around the block, no problems and more importantly no FI light while the bike was running.

The moment I turn the bike off the FI light kicks back on but its really faint.
I included a picture to show you what I mean.

And heres a picture of the bike for ****s and giggles.

well, at this point, I would say that its either a bad wire, or some weird resistance....

There is a White wire with a blue stripe leading from the Dash to the computer. This is the wire the lights the FI light.

Now you what what wire to look at specifically. See what you can find.
