Default F4 F4i What's behind that brake pedal? Washers and clips?

My brake pedal moves around a bit.. I was originally looking to replace the rearset bracket since it is flexed a tiny bit in, but I was able to bend it out a bit... now I see that the brake pedal will move towards the swingarm some and back out again.. maybe 1/8in or so.. The rear brake pedal isnt as effective as a result..

well here is the schematic on it..

I am looking at numbers 12, 13, and 16. 16 is a 15mm outer snap ring.. and I have snap ring pliers and a good assortment of rings... the other two are listed simply as 'washers'.. one at 15.2mm..

Now I cannot tell exactly what is behind the pedal if there is anything.. I will be removing the rearset and spinning it around to see exactly what I am dealing with. In a perfect world, I would just need to put a new snap ring on there and be done.. but I dont know if the washers are still there or not.

Does anyone know if there is anything special about those washers? Are they steel? Plastic/nylon? In my service manual, the same picture shows one of the washer to appear more wavvy and thus more 'springy' for lack of a better word perhaps to put some tension on the pedal as it moves...

anyway.. if you have moved to an aftermarket rearset or replaced your brake pedal, you might know exactly what I am looking to find out.

Thanks,
Adam

Special? ...No. But that combination is designed to give proper retention w/o restricting movement of the mechanism. You don't want so many washers in there that its tight & doesn't allow freedom of moment in the pedal/lever. It needs to be able to move freely to give instant response.

So, as long as you can add what you want w/o restricting movement, you're ok.
