F4 dies for 10 minutes
I have a 2000 f4 and I have been having problems with it dying on me. If I leave my house during the day I can get 10 or 15 miles and it will sputter and die on me and will not start back up. Then I have to sit on the side of the road for 10 or 15 minutes and it wil start up fine. I have noticed that it doesn't happen at night when its cooler. Its not overheating as my temp guage is just over half way up but at night its slightly below half. Any suggestions as to where to start looking? Thanks.

First thought would be the fuel is being vacuum locked. Next time it happens, quickly pop open your gas cap and listen for a whoosh sound. If you get this, it means the tank vent is blocked.
Also, some models (Im not sure on yours) have coolant that flows through the carb bodies for cold weather riding. If your bike has this and its open, you may want to close it during warm weather riding.
Also would be a good time to check the charging system. Many times, the ignition will act up during warm conditions. Check to make sure you have spark next time it happens. Also check your battery voltage to make sure its not too high or too low once the bike is warmed up. Do this at idle and at 4,000 rpms once the bike is warmed up.

I'm gonna vote on the r/r-charging system being the issue.
Check these links, they give you the low-down. Heck, even if it's not the issue..
Having a clean bill of health for the electrical system is a step ahead.
