ok .. it a 98 cbr f3. just replaced spark plugs,fuel fitler,go carbs cleaned.

i though it was th fuel pump but it was not it.
the bike runs great when it is on bike stands with no problem....but when i take it out for a ride it runs smooth but then all of the suddend it starts to sputter and looses power. when i hold the clutch in it dies.

ANY HELP OR INFO WOULD BE A GREAT HELP.

 

could it be the petcock on the tank?? I've heard of them getting clogged or not switching correctly and in turn not getting proper fuel to the bike

 

do you mean that the bike is losing electrical power and dying out? like you'll be riding along and then it bogs down you try to rev but it dies out .

 

petcock is good. and when you pull the throttle back to speed up it just sputters.. and sometime it dies. it has a new battery too.

 

Was it doing this before you put the carbie cleaner in? There is a fuel filter that could now be clogged up with crap. Even with a new battery, could be the reg dying on you, drains the battery, bike then runs like a dog, wait a while, battery recovers & then all's fine for a bit. (the reg heats up, fails & then drains the battery.)

 

I have the same problem mate. Let me know if you find out what it is.

If I understand you correctly. Out of gear it will rev up until the cows come home but you put it in gear and about 4500 + rpms it will cut out like it's starving for gas. I've done a bit of work to mine and still haven't solved the problem. Let me know if you had any luck.
