I just bought a 93 CBR and got it running, just did some maintanence work on it- got a little more to go...
but right now the headlight is not working... I changed the the bulb and still no luck.
Any pointer, or tips? what should I check first?

is there a relay I'm suppose to change or check?
I downloaded the free manual but it didnt have a section that trouble shoots
headlight problems.
I'm thinking if no one responds after this weekend, I'll just run new wire
with a relay in between the bulb and switch.
but I'm trying to do this correct, not modifying anywires-like I did with my car.

Sorry dude - didn't see the post til this morning. So I'm assuming you checked the fuse to make sure it isn't blown. I don't think it has a relay. Does your bright light work? If it's out also then I'm thinking bad fuse or melted wire. Basically it's just tracing the wire back toward the fuse until you get power. Of course you can also check the incoming side of the fuse to see if you got power coming from the battery. If there's no power to the fuse then that narrows down the search immensely.

I skim through all the new posts when I get home from work in the morning --don't know how I missed yours twice[sm=alcoholic.gif] If ya need stuff quick just PM me -- I rarely miss one of them.

Sometimes the "start" button can stick, killing the headlight circuit while the motor is started..try pulling out on the start button or taking that switch apart checking the contacts for it and see if they are gummed up with stuff

yeah, I figured out what the problem was. It was a loose wire coming somewhere from my ignition. I checked all the fuses on my bike and they are all good. My friend told me that the headlight came on when I rode it two weeks ago, so it has to be a loose wire. I tried to trace it, it was a pain in the butt. I had to take all the fairing off the front...It got dark, by the time I had an idea of which wire it was.
I have been buying parts to rewire my headlight for some time now. So i just decided to rewire the headlight completely- that way, I know that everything is working. You can the How-to forum to see my write up. Hope that helps
