F2 600 troubles
I got this bike given to me a couple months ago, as a project. Bike had sat for a long time and was having a "fuel issue". After reading on here a lot I fixed the fuel selector valve. After that it was getting fuel but the carbs were really gunked up. Sent the carbs to a guy and had them cleaned/rebuilt and put a "stage 1 jet kit" in it. Bike has a D&D slip on and a factory flow intake. Bike will only start with the choke on a little and runs like crap until about 7k then cleans out and runs like it should. Some times idles like crap(or not at all) sometimes dies when riding and pulling in the clutch, other times will rev up when the clutch is pulled in. After riding a while, it say over night and wouldn't hardly start. Emptied the fuel bowls and it started and ran okay. Sometimes it will just crank over and over and not start. I'm not knowledgable on bikes, but i would really like to figure out what is going on with this thing. When it's running, it runs really good up top, but down low it seems like it's stumbling.

Hey there,
You said you had your carbs cleaned and re-jetted, which is good. Stage 1 jetting is pretty much a stock set up.
From what you described, there is still more work to be done as it pertains to your carbs. 1st they have to be sync'd. That can only be done properly while they are on a running bike. You can bench sync them, but that just gets you in the ballpark.
2nd, your fuel/air mixture has to be set properly, again on a running bike after they are sync'd.
Also, since you aren't running factory exhaust, some other tweaking may be needed.
Finally, all of this assumes your valve clearances are in spec. If they aren't, then that's your 1st step.
Any guy who can states they know enough about carbs to clean and jet them should know what I just told you and warned you of this.
Hope this helps.
