Engine won't fire...
I POSTED THIS IN THE F4 FOLDER...BUT NO ONE HAS RESPONDED. NEED SUGGESTIONS FOR WHAT SHOULD BE A SIMPLE PROBLEM.
ok...i burned my clutch in my 2000 CBR600F4 the other day..so i bought a barnett clutch kit (fiber plates, steel plates, & springs). i put them in per the manual...even though the manual states there are purple plates and green plates...barnett made no color or size distinction. put oil in the bike, tightened everything, and went to start it, and she will not start....When I burned my clutch, the bike started no problem....so I know it has something to do with my removal and installation.
I think I messed up the Pulse Generator.Itis attached to the inside of the Clutch Cover...Instead of disconnecting it from the pin, Iremoved it, and then put it back.I tried testing it to see if it was working but not sure if I wastesting correctly. I checked it for continuity by placing the probes on theterminals (yellow andyellow/white)as the manual states. Then I tried starting it...I'm really not sure if I was testing it right....
The bike started before I removed the clutch...since the clutch has nothing to do with starting themotor (right?) than ithas to be thisPulse Generator, which has something to do with the timing...and maybe the sparkplugs firing. So, from this description, can anyone figure if there is something else i could have disrupted...by replacing the plates, moving this "generator," that i can't figure out. i'll buy the part, i just don'twant to waste anymore time!
Please any help would be great...i've changed the clutch kit before to...that's what really annoys me, i've done the job before and never had a problem.
thanks,
hani
