Engine mounting bolt
Hey guys I'm new to the forum, I picked up a 2003 cbr 600rr a few months ago. I have a few questions about the engine mounting bolts. It would be a lot easier to explain myself with pictures but I'm not seeing where your supposed to add attachments.
Anyway, long story short the bike was in a crash (or 20) and their is now a dent in the frame. Its just above where the front right side motor mount bolt sits. Its about 1.5 inches in diameter and maybe 2 millimeters deep. The mounting bolts that were on the bike when I bought it were not the factory bolts or spacers (imagine a ****load of washers). So I purchased the correct bolts and now I've installed them how the Clymer manual states. But on the right side mounting bolt their is a gap no more than a 1/8 of an inch between the spacer and the frame. I could easily pull the frame in by using the pinch bolt in the frame, but ive heard your supposed to loosen up your engine mounting bolts after a crash and then tighten them back up. Ive inspected the welds around that part of the frame and none appear to be cracked or damaged. So should I close the gap or leave it be?

I would leave it as is. That may not even be the correct spacer to go by. If you crank on the bolt, you will damage the engine case before the frame gives.
