As long as the chain int bigger than 530 youd be okay.
Mine is a chain breaker, press and riveter. Also will do a cam chain as well. Like PG said anything can be used to break the old chain. If you got time and patience (a lot of patience), you could do it by hand with a metal file.

But you need something to rivet the master link

I used a hammer, blunt nose punch, and a piece of steel to brace the back side of the link. it worked, would I recommend others do it? Not really lol. Next chain I will be buying the tool, if I dont get it b4 when I got the cash.
