Default Dropped bike question? Please help

I dropped my bike last week. Luckily I was fine but bike not so lucky. I have to go through insurance and the quote is 3600 Canadian. Think they will write the bike off? How do they figure it out.

Well, I honestly don't know. But i would assume they would look at its KBB retail value, or other rescources retail value. And if the cost of repair is like 80% or more of the retail value. I would consider it total'd. Also, if it was just you and you dropped the bike, i wouldn't have filed. I low sided last weekend, and i don't plan on telling anyone, except the next person to buy it from me. I mean, there were no other vehicles, no property damage (except my own) and it was 100% my fault.

But honestly. It's just my guess. I have no idea.

The most expensive part to replace (not repair) is the ABS fairing. Here any way, the insurance companies look at what panels need to be replaced on faired bikes as original stuff costs a bomb. The other stuff that can get damaged, like mirrors, pegs or exhausts are relatively cheap in comparison. Pegs & bars can be straightened, dents knocked out of the tank & resprayed. They look at the insured value of the bike (depending on your level of insurance, as in market or agreed value) & compare that to what it will cost to fix/replace damaged parts V's their cheapest option.
