Down shifting Locked my rear Wheel?
Hey jaybird180, the gearbox on your bike is a cassette type which allows for clutchless upshifting. Downshifting without the clutch is a whole new can o worms, not impossible but very risky (and expensive) if you don't get it just right!
9/10 times is slips right into gear. It's probably because I don't do it much over 6500 rpm. Next time I'll pay attention to what RPM but I think it's around3-4k
Went out yesterday to practice the throttle blip technique, and now I'm having problems with my other technique. What gives, am I getting better in one area and retarted in another?
Racers/trackriders: What RPM do you Up/down shift?

You don't say what the other technique is that you now have problems with??? Best advice is to keep at it, blip the throttle every time you downshift, road or track. Like everything else it becomes second nature when you practise it a lot. My shift indicator is set at 11 000 rpm for upshifts and I down shift anywhere between 7k and 9k.
You definately keep th revs higher than I do. I cruise around a lot. I want to get the technique down before my trackday in 5 weeks (a long friggin time from now)
Everytime you hear that tire chirp that is BAD BAD news for the engine!!! What that is acually doing is turning the crank in the opposite direction momentarily. In that case it would be very easy to spin a crank bearing. I have seen engines become huge paperweights from that cause.
