Different starting issue.
Well this is my first post, but I've been reading quiet a bit on here about different things for awhile. I just bought a 95 BCR600 a week ago and when I test drove it the thing ran great, and still does 95% of the time. This is my second CBR600 the first was a 93. My question is that after riding my bike for a good period of time, say 40-50 miles or so I will come back home to take a break and eat for about 20-30 minutes and when I go back out to start the bike up it just turns over. I can easily get the bike to start if i just give it the slightlest amount of gas with no problem though and after that inital surge it idles right at 1300rpms, so the bike obviously hasnt gotten cold enough to need choke. Some background info on the bike: Has aftermarket Wiley's Co pipe, rejetted for the pipe and a K&N air filter. All of this was on the bike when I got it. The bike has no problems starting if I ride for 40-50 miles and then turn it off for a few minutes or even 10 minutes and it will start back up just fine. The bike doesn't even have problems starting after sitting all night, I just put the choke on about 3/4, start and then lower to about 1/4 and let it sit for a minute or two and it will idle fine at 1300rpm with no choke on. Another issue, although I think it is unrelated, is that it takes a very long time for my temp gauge to warm up, and even when it does it sits about 1/3 way up from cold maybe a lil more. I know the bike needs an oil change and not sure when the last time the coolant was flushed, I have to contact the guy who I bought it from, he kept pretty good records of when he did maintenence on the bike and just one of the things I forgot to ask when I picked it up. I will also ask him about the starting thing, but he usually just drove it to work so it had time to fully cool down before he jumped on it again when he got out. The bike has been in one small cosmetic accident from the original owner, I am the 3rd owner, so I do not believe there would be any problem with that. Anyone who might be able to shed some light on this I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Blake

Well I am not an expert on carbed motors, but i know some that are and they said its probably just the gas that evaped out of the float bowl and to just crack the throttle and let it go to get gas back into it and then to start it. So i guess all is good. Still learning about the whole carb thing. My first bike I didn't keep too long I toyed around with it and then sold it.
