Ok so I bought a brand new battery and Put it on and charged it and my bike will run for liek a week and a half then the battery will just go dead... and i will have to charge it again...

this is my first bike so like is it a bad alternator like a car or a short some where or what? Also my rectifier gets super hot..... is this thing bad?

 

let me guess you have a f2 or an f3 (also possibly a f1,f4 or 900rr)? sounds like the typical reg/rec problem. you have a stator which is different then a alternator on your car. so you have the regulator/rectifier, battery and stator. if either of these go bad it will put a strain on the rest of the electrical system causing premature failure. this is very common. ive gotten used reg's from local recycle yards for like $20 you can get new ones on ebay for like 50 and some people even use one from a gsxr (plenty of write ups and threads on here about these options ).

replace your reg , charge your battery and enjoy riding....
