I want to redo the foam on my seat for a softer place to rest my butt on long trips. I am recovering the seatand was wondering if anyone has ever rebuild their seats using a different kind of seat foam that is still firm, yet softer than factory and that maintains the factory shape and size of the seat. I am doing front and back seats and do not want to spentd the big bucks on a Corbin, they are hard anyways...I was leaning towards memory foam or furnatire foam. What has anyone else used? Any suggestions? thanks

Go to a upholstry supply store and discuss your needs.. the key is progressive densitys in layers inspecific places. If you are adding a layer for long run comfort... thebottom layer, should be denser... even to the point of an "rebond" insert, across the hip points. the densuity, will make the diff.

So then I should deffinatly go with memory foam as my seat pad, using different densities and weights? Is there a need to leave a little bit of the factory foam in place at the botton to procide the basic shapr and suppurt or just gut the seat completely and rebuild it with memory foam? thanks

D2DGraphix...thanks that helped me a little bit more. I feel better about doing the seat now. I read in your other post that you used memory foam. That is what I was planning on using. Where is a good place to other than Ebay? Also, do you happen to know what the pound and density rating of the memory foam was and how thick the foam was you used for your seat? I assume it has to be somewhat firm since it will give quite a bit when I sit on it. Thanks.
