As for the repair your options are fiberglass like mentioned above, abs repair kits or plastic welding are also options. If you put any filler on it, Evercoat's poly glazes are a good choice. Spendier than normal bondo but has more flex to it and is less likely to crack. I fixed mine ( seriously rashed when I bought it) using fiberglass fiber overlaid with abs glue instead of the fiberglass resin on the back to reinforce a crack or two, then glazed the rash using evercoat. I like using abs glue instead of fiberglass resin since when it dries it has all the same properties of the original abs plastic, with the strength of fiberglass threads mixed in. After I painted them (HVLP gun using Crossfire5.0 urethane enamel) you can't tell there was ever a scratch to it, holding up nicely as well. But to each their own, theres hundreds of ways to fix it.
