Confused, and slightly worried.
Ok, so I recently fully cleaned out my carburetor after it was spewing out fuel that had seafoam in it. Last night I reassembled in everything with the gas tank pretty low on fuel. At first it hesitated starting but finally started and when the throttle was applied it was running well but wouldn't idle. Today I went and put on all the fairings and seat in order to finally take it out on the first ride of the season (its been killing me) and I put the rest of the fuel/seafoam mixture in the tank and it wouldn't start at all everynow and then it sounded like it was back firing and really trying to start but simply wouldn't. Looking at everything the only thing that I could think of was there was too much seafoam mixed with the fuel, and after checking with the can I definatly stupidly put way to much of it in the fuel. Is this something that would happen due to too much seafoam?? and if so whats the best way of going about and fixing this?
I know that in cars it is highly recommended to change your spark plugs after running seafoam
just dont see how they could recommend that if you had to change the plugs every time when normally plugs run 10x that?
How much seafoam did you use? I'm assuming you did the mix method? Back when i had my old bike I did it through a vacuum tube and it worked out a lot better. it smoked like hell but I feel it helped. Even if it may not be the case, after draining the gas and putting new gas in, plugs would be the second place I would look too.
where did you read that? I dont mean to sound like a ***** but that sounds fishy to me... The seafoam can recommends use every 3k miles (or something short like that) for fuel injected engines to 'keep a clean running engine' (or some bs like that)
