Default clutch/gears

own a 2006 cbr 600rr. Oil change was just done before i really rode often. By the way just picked up the bike. When i shift through the gears, it seems alot hard then normal. I pull in clutch and bike reacts fine,it justs seems klouder then normal when shifting in gears. For instace when i shift into 1 from neutral i here a loud click. I no tht is normal but idk if it should be that loud. What can i do help this. Like i said oil has just been changed.

Is it possible that since the bike is new to you, that you're just not used to the sounds that the bike normally makes ? Do you have friends with a similar model for comparison ? Have you adjusted the shift linkage for you and your riding position ?

I am very new to riding and have not rode with anyone yet. You could be vary correct. I have not and do not no how to adjust shift linkage. I guess i just got and am still getting used to how it already is set up. I will have to look in manual to fig it out. Weird? off topic. When i turn bike off is it best to use kill switch then tunr off by key and then when starting turn key on the kill switch up to run wait till oil light goes off and loads then start bike and so on. Or just turn off by key and never use kill switch. I am just wondering what is best.

Did you notice the noise with your helmet off for the first time? Or did you recently purchase a new helmet? It can make a huge difference as most people don't realize just how loud these bike are when they shift because the helmet dampens it so much.

As for turning it off. It doesnt really matter. I've always been a fan of using my kickstand. that way, I know I will never forget to put it down and drop the bike.

Since you are very new... did you put in the correct oil?
