Default Click it in my handle bars

Hey guys, Im feeling/hearing a click in my handlebars. It doesnt seem to do it at higher speeds or when im accelerating. Seems to do it when im coasting or cruising at lower speeds. some times the clicks are harder and actually seem to turn the handle bars just a bit. I checked the tire and brakes but i cant find anything that looks obviously wrong. and i cant replicate it with the bike just sitting still. Anybody got any ideas?

Try getting on the bike, grab the front brakes and rocking the bike forward and back. Does that cause the clicking? Also look at the top of the steering stem, does it move (even a tiny bit)when you do this? It might be your steering head bearings. Do a search on these forums and you'll find several recent discussions on this issue.

Hope this helps, Ern

Usually loose head bearings will give a "feel" & will click very noticeable when your braking.
Clicking through the bars just cruising along, could be loose or dented/dry bearings or buggered suspension spring/s & last but not least one or more of the bolts in the triple clamp my have come loose. If you have a center stand, lifting the front wheel of the bike, grab the bottom end of the front suspension & push them toward then back from the front of the bike. If loose then you will not only hear the bearing click, but you will feel it. Bouncing the bike at the front while your sitting on it will tell you if its the springs & just checking the tightness of the bolts will answer that one.
If its the bearings & they are loose (not unusual on our bikes & every bloody few hundred kay's on others). Get your self a manual, the tool to tighten them is not that hard or expensive to get, but you need to be careful as it's easy to apply several hundred pounds of pressure, which will not only cactus the bearings, but can make your bikes handling very interesting.
