Default cleaning chain

Im putting a new rear tire on my bike and while the rear end is off i would really like to get all the nasty old chain lube off my chain. It is an o-ring chain.. is there anything i can dip it in to clean it... i though kerosine worked but i dont want to damage the o-rings. thanks guys

Motomummy, I believe, has a kick **** chain brush you can get with some environmenatly friendly degreaser which works wonders. I just used it last week for the first time and it came out luvely. I even bought the replacement bristles as they are interchangeable. I'm very happy with the purchase and would highly recommend it!

I use Simple Green Cleaner at 100% strength sprayed right on to the chain, let it sit for a few minutes and then give it a good scrubbing with a brush and rinse it off. I've never tried the kerosene method, but obviously others are using it so it must do the job too. It's pretty inexpensive from what I recall from the last time I had to buy some...
