Default Changing shift set up back to stock

Good afternoon everyone. My name is matt and I am restoring a 1993 CBR 600 with a 1997 Smoken joes motor installed. The motor I got has the race shift pattern on it. ( 1 up and 5 down) I am wondering if any of you have changed it back to stock. Going into 2nd gear it seems like it wants to pop out. I dont know if there is an adjustment for this or the tranny is going but Id like for it to shift stock.

GP shift is actually smoother than regular shifting. If you are having trouble going into 2,you might have a problem.

Ya I already had thought of that as much as I didnt want too. It shifts into every other gear good just 2nd. Has there been isssues with that on CBR's or is it just mine? The bike overall dosent look to be abused. Thanks

The F1 had issues with missing second gear and popping out, and mine was doing that when I first bought it. If left that way long enough it will damage the gears and/or shift forks which means pulling the engine to split the cases. I don't know if the F2/F3 have the same issue, but I installed a Factory Pro shift kit with a new detent arm and spring, and it eliminated the missed shifts completely.
