Default RE: Changing fork oil

If your just changing out the oil, you will have to remove the forks from the bike. Then take the caps off and dump out the oil and let drain for as long as possible. Youll have to clean some the internal components as well. Reassemble the forks and fill the forks to the capacity. It probably wouldnt hurt to change out the fork seals while there though. It will allow you to really clean out all the old oil.

Get a fork oil gauge. Level is important. Get a manual that will show you the disassembly steps. If it's been a long time, I agree with the above poster. Just find the procedure for changing seals and you will have completed a full fork service by the time you're done.
