Chain Guard???
I've never seen one but I would venture to think that either stretching the rear is meant to not have a guard for looks or someone safety oriented though of it and one has been created for extended rear ends. From a safety view...it's very dangerous...more so for any inexperienced passenger you may have.
MapJr is right, but then again, the exhaust canister is also hot & there is no cover for that.
I have have my bike for over ten years & have seen some intentionaly take off the chain guard as they like that look better.
All this time, even though it IS called a chain guard, I only thought of it as something that helps keep my white rims & rear panels clean from flying chain lube.
I suppose it depends on who you put on the back of your bike really if you are wondering if it is safe without one.

i took a stock lingth one and slid it down(a link to the one i got-->
guard i used and this is how i made it work i took a peice of square stock 1/2*1/2*1 foot drilled 2 holes (same spacing as stock holes) slid chain gaurd down steel bar till it fight how i wanted it to. I drilled a new hole in gaurd then on the back side i drilled a small hole near the top and tapped it to keep the top from moving. I slid it back and down far enough so it did not hit pass foot pegs and is past the 1/2 way point to the rear sprocket(ama prostar rules) and this is a bad pic of how it turned out chain gaurd pic
if you try it i will try to clear up any questions
