Default Chain compatibility

Hi guys,

recently bought a second-hand 2000 (f4) cbr600f, everything in good condition, including a relatively new chain. What I didn't notice was that the previous owner has swapped the original sprocket for one tooth smaller - so now the chain is a link too long.

Without paying for a brand new chain, I'd like to take a link out of this one - my only problem is the joining link I'm going to have to put in because I don't recognise the brand of my current chain.

It's a CZ 525sdz - does anyone out there know what other (more common) brands of chain this will be compatible with?

Any info much appreciated!

Default RE: Chain compatibility

you are fine, when you drop a tooth in your sprocket, the wheel will sit futher back. the chain wear indicators no longer work (not that they work so well to begin with). most importantly, you can not just take out1 link...you can only take out multiples of 2. if you did take out 2, you'd be too short.
