Default cbr600 f2 tail light isnt on when it should be

Bought a bit of a project which has been streetfightered (unfortunately) and didnt realise till i got back that the tail light isnt on when the headlight it. If i switch it to sidelight it does come on and the brake light also works.

anyone know how to make it work when it should?

oh and btw its an R6 tail light if that makes any difference.

i've seen that bike before... i distinctly remember it. how long have you had it?

i dig the tail, it looks way better than a stock f2's tail. anyway, i'd just rebuild the rear part of the harness using a wiring diagram. it sounds like you've got something crossed or mis-wired. the tail light should be hooked up to an ignition relay or something - as it's on when the ignition is on. brake light should be coming from the switch, and the turn signal relays should go to turn signals.... i haven't looked at the wiring diagram, but it should be easy enough to figure it out

that's 100% right, that's how i learned. and to be truthful, that's probably the simplest part of the harness right there. it should be only 7 wires. 4 for turn signals (2 grounds, 2 for positives) and 3 for the tail light (1 ground, 1 positive for tail light and one positive for for brake light). unless it's integrated, then it might be slightly different. but it sounds like if you take a look at the wiring diagram for an f2, you'll be able to see which wire is going where to make sure they're all correct! good luck, let me know how it goes.
